Event Details

Native plants are visually appealing, low maintenance, drought tolerant and a source of food and shelter for wildlife. Alameda County Master Gardener Birgitt Evans will teach you how to incorporate these plants into your landscape.

Birgitt Evans began gardening as a child. In college she was mentored by a founder of the Hopkins-Peralta Community Garden, who introduced her to seed starting, composting and community gardening. She has experimented with growing food and ornamental plants ever since.
