Dia de los Muertos takes places on November 2, 2010. If you’re interested in building an altar for a loved one as part of the Festival of Altars, come to this altar meeting at Garfield Park on Thursday, October 14 at 7:00pm.
Making an altar for a loved one that has passed away, is a cathartic experience that promotes healing, letting go and a celebration of the person’s life.
If you would like to create a personal altar (roughly 1×1 foot) please contact Maica at maicaf@earthlink.net to reserve a place at the park. There will be an altar meeting on Thursday, 10/14 at 7:00pm at the benches in front Garfield Park Clubhouse. Set up begins at 1:00pm on November 2, please check in with us before setting up your altar to ensure that you are in an appropriate place.
