Celebrate Pride weekend at the Oakland debut of Drag Queen Story Hour, with face painting, cookies – and stories and songs led by Black Benatar. Black Benatar thinks kids are the best and loves reading books to them that celebrate LGBTQ and multicultural families and identities.

Drag Queen Story Hour, presented by Radar Productions, captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity in childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive and unabashedly queer role models.

In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

Dressing up for this event is encouraged. After the program, head over to Dimond Park’s playground for a community Pride potluck and playdate.
