Think of it as a D.I.Y. kick in the ass to the holiday shopping season and a way to discover those lovely treasures to wile away the long winter nights.
Check out workshops and speakers at the 2012 East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest celebrating the quality and diversity of independent writing and publishing in the Bay Area. Visit over 60 local artists sharing their wares.
There will also be a reading and discussion with Adam Mansbach, author of the adult children’s book, “Go the F*** to Sleep.”
2012 Schedule:
- 10am: Doors Open to the Public
- 11am-12pm: Panel Discussion: Alternative Books & Zines in Libraries
- 12-1pm: Workshop: Screenprinting with Rickey Bonds & Workshop: Cartooning with Judy Johnson-Williams
- 1-2pm: Workshop: DIY Vegan Body Care From Your Kitchen with Kendy & Workshop: Letterpress with Kristi Holohan
- 2-3pm: “Art is a Weapon” Slide Lecture with Eric Drooker
- 3-4pm: Reading and Discussion with Adam Mansbach, author of acclaimed adult children’s book “Go the F*** to Sleep.”
- 5pm: Event doors close
