Booksmith is excited to present Kim Steinhardt and The Edge: The Pressured Past and Precarious Future of California’s Coast, which Kim co-wrote with Gary Griggs. Join us at The Bindery!

The Edge is a dramatic snapshot of the California coast’s past, present and probable future in a time of climate change and expanding human activity. Written by two marine experts who grew up on the coast, this new book is both a celebration of the coast’s natural and cultural uniqueness and a warning of the many complex changes that threaten that uniqueness.

What’s more, Kim will speak of his personal connection to the San Francisco Bay Area—he was just six years old when his parents spearheaded the movement to create the wildlife sanctuary that prevented filling in and development of the north end of San Francisco Bay.

Free but an RSVP is appreciated.
