awesome orchestra

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

10313876_273379406200567_913127238578992987_oThe Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

If you’re a musician, they’ll have special sign-up lists and sheet music before each event, so you can come prepared to play.

Want to join the orchestra? To participate, sign up for early updates. You’ll get links to the sign-up forms and sheet music. Contact your section’s Awesome Ambassadör with any questions about part assignments.

They’ll provide music, chairs, and drinks for the session – just make sure to bring a music stand. Sessions are always most fun when you come knowing a lot of the music ahead of time, thus keeping the musicianship as high as possible, so stay tuned for a message from your section’s ambassador about tricky spots to look at ahead of time.
