2018’s Race for Governor of California | Meet the Candidates

It’s the race for the 2nd most important office in the county. At this Politico speaker series meet the candidates for Governor of California including Gavin Newsom and former mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa.

The Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good at the University of San Francisco (USF) is partnering with POLITICO to co-host a speaker series featuring candidates running for governor of California in 2018.

The inaugural speaker series, in association with the Center’s 15th Anniversary, will be moderated by POLITICO’s Carla Marinucci and David Siders.

Race for the Second Most Important Office in the Country: Conversations for the Common Good

The candidates scheduled to speak are as follows:

  • Thurs., February 1: Antonio Villaraigosa, former Mayor of Los Angeles
  • Mon., February 5: Gavin Newsom, California State Lt. Governor
  • Thurs., February 15: Delaine Eastin, former State Superintendent of Public Instruction
  • Thurs., March 1: John Cox, Accountant and businessman
  • Thurs., March 22: John Chiang, California State Treasurer

All events are free and open to the public, and will take place from 5-7 pm at the McLaren Complex on the USF campus.
