For 2017 Global Reddit Meetup Day, head to Pioneer Meadow East for some food, boozing and awkward, but awesome socializing. This event is a great way to meet a ridiculous number of interesting people who love the same things you do.

It’s not only talking about your favorite subreddit, it’s about trading info about that new restaurant, finding a new rock climbing partner, finding a new lunch buddy, reminiscing about your home state, forming a new board gaming group. It’s about having some fun with some strangers that may become your new friends.

What to expect:

Beer: Most of the beer you’ll be drinking will come out of the organizers’ pockets. If you’re drinking, we’ll be checking IDs to make sure you’re over 21 (the SF Park Rangers may be spot checking as well). Feel free to BYOB some cans as well (no glass at all).

Food: The way-cool peeps at Reddit HQ are providing bunches of food options. Hot dogs, pulled pork, chicken, veggie options, corn bread, cookies, and more are all on the menu. Find an admin and give them a pat on the back in thanks. Remember, calories from free food don’t count towards diets (this actually may not be true).

Games: No need to be awkward. They’ll provide some icebreakers to help you start a conversation with the redditors around you. Looking to burn off some of the totally-doesn’t-count-calories? Join in a casual football or Frisbee game. Bring anything you’d like to play, even board games or cards.

Group Photo: You’ve seen the giant group photos taken in years past floating around. This year, be a part of it and show the other cities from around the globe whose redditors are the best.

Swag: There will be t-shirts and stickers given out for free while supplies last.
