F*ck Surge Pricing: $10 Flat Rate Cab Rides on New Year’s Eve | SF

Flywheel, a competitor to Uber, Lyft and Sidecar is taking the exact opposite approach of “surge pricing” during high peak times with a special promotion just for New Year’s Eve.

For seven hours on New Year’s Eve, Flywheel is offering unlimited $10 flat rate rides anywhere in San Francisco.  We’re told that Uber can surge up to 7x or more on NYE, so it might be worth checking Flywheel first.

Flywheel’s $10 Flat Rate Rides on New Year’s Eve
8pm December 31, 2014 to 3am January 1, 2015

There’s a few caveats, but there’s actually pretty reasonable:

– Your flat rate $10 ride is up to a $50 meter fare. If your meter goes over $50 then you pay the difference.
– $10 flat rate rides are good only for SF (not the East Bay or South Bay)
– $10 rides are good from 8pm to 3am.
