Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market
This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.
The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.
On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Spring Greens Celebration | Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers MarketSpring has arrived, and young, tender greens can be found all over the market from arugula to nettles, fava leaves, and orach. Join CUESA for a day of tasting, learning, and cooking with delicious and nutritious leafy greens.
Spring Greens Celebration Schedule:
- 10 am-1 pm: Stop by the CUESA Classroom and get to know the variety of greens at the market. A Little Yumminess will show you how to make your own veggie rice paper rolls. Pick up CUESA’s Guide to Greens and recipes.
- 11 am: Jill Nussinow, The Veggie Queen
- Noon: Farmer talk and tasting with Grant Brians, Heirloom Organic Gardens
