Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.

On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Born and raised in Northern California, Chef Ryan Pollnow attended the School of Culinary Arts at SRJC in Sonoma County. He went on to further his education in Errenteria, Spain at restaurant Mugariz. In 2010, Ryan returned to San Francisco to join Lauren Kiino and the growing Il Cane Rosso group as sous chef. Shortly after, Pollnow joined the flour + water team as chef de cuisine and later took over as chef de cuisine of central kitchen in 2013, where he earned acclaim from Zagat, recognizing him as a “30 Under 30” up-and-comer on the Bay Area food scene. Now, only two years later, Pollnow brings what he loved about Spain to San Francisco with Aatxe.
