Event Details

SST’s Sam Shepard Festival offers a free Monday night film series, Shepard on Screen, exploring Shepard’s extraordinary career as a screenwriter and actor (over 40 films, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in The Right Stuff).

Shepard on Screen takes place Monday nights July 9 – August 6. Shepard stars in:

  • Terence Malick’s Days of Heaven (July 9)
  • Michael Apted’s Thunderheart (July 16)
  • Volker Schlöndorff’s The Voyager (July 23)
  • Wim Wender’s Don’t Come Knocking (July 30)
  • Robert Altman’s Fool for Love (August 6)

Shepard also wrote the screenplay for the last two films. Faculty and SST company members lead a post-screening discussion after each film.
