First Friday Shorts | The New Parkway

Please Note: First Friday Shorts is on hiatus. There will be no upcoming screenings until further notice.

First Friday Shorts screens short films by Bay Area filmmakers and media arts organizations using film and video to tell stories not usually seen or heard.

Join The New Parkway and discover local filmmaker talent and learn something new about your Bay Area community.

November 6, 2015 features East Bay Queers: QTPOC Films from Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project. The screening will be followed by a filmmaker Q&A, and is free and open to the public as part of The New Parkway’s First Friday Shorts series.

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) creates, exhibits and distributes new films that authentically reflect our life stories, increase our visibility, and address the vital social justice issues that concern our multiple communities. Our vision nurtures queer women of color, gender nonconforming and transgender people of color as artists-activists to create systemic change through art, activism and community building.
