Bay Area Science Festival | 2013
Created by the Bay Area’s scientific, cultural, and educational institutions, the Bay Area Science Festival returns with a 10-day festival, scheduled October 24 – November 2, 2013.
The festival provides a wide range of science & technology activities – lectures, debates, exhibitions, concerts, plays, workshops and more at a locations throughout the Bay Area.
Expect similar events in 2013, including the return of Discovery Days in Santa Rosa, Hayward, and San Francisco.

Come experience “Flash Mob Science” at the Chabot Space & Science Center. Participate in guided hands-on experiments dealing with energy, light, sound, gravity forces and motion. Fun activities for children of all ages.
Hop on board the free Flash Mob Shuttle buses that will be running throughout Oakland to take guests to and from Chabot. During your ride to Chabot there will be an ambassador of science on the bus to enrich and entertain as you begin your journey to Chabot. Chabot’s regular interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations and Planetarium shows will also be open to visit free of charge during this time.
Schedule of events:
- Flash Mob Shuttles run 12pm to 6pm, every 15 minutes from Fruitvale BART station.
- Flash Mob Activities 1pm to 5pm
