SF Live Arts (formerly the Noe Valley Music Series) are out to revive America’s first pop music with a mini Hardly Strictly Bluegrass-type show.
With three bands covering everything from blues, to gypsy to ragtime, they plan to take full advantage of the great sound at their new venue, Cyprian’s.
Yes, it’s a church and yes, there will be beer to purchase inside. Hoots and hollers encouraged!

Ragtime is America ’s first original popular music. Cakewalks, rags, “Indian intermezzos”, and Latin dances were all arranged for string instruments. The Ragtime Skedaddlers revive the joyous sounds of a ragtime string band consisting of two mandolins and guitar.
