Event Details

The Alameda County SBDC and the Alameda County Community Development Agency offer a free ten-part seminar on “Running Your Own Food Business” for participants interested in launching and growing food businesses in Alameda County.

In this series, you will learn the basics to start and grow your own food business. Do you have a great idea and a burning desire to start a food product or restaurant/cafe business, but don’t know how? This series will help turn your idea into reality.

Participants who attend eight of the ten sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The sessions will run Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm from April 3 through May 3.

Free, but an RSVP is required. Space is limited. Registrants will be asked to reconfirm during the week prior to the start of the course.

Session 1 – Defining Your Concept

In this session, they will discuss how to begin to take an idea for a new food company, and begin to explore how you can expand an idea into a business plan.

c. Unique Selling Proposition (USP) – Why
d. Defining Success – Bottom line, triple bottom line, environmental impact, community impact etc.
