Exhibiting artists are paired with local attorneys who are experts in intellectual property, immigration, and criminal law.
The discussion is moderated by artist and attorney JD Beltran and featured artists Ray Beldner, Dreamers Adrift, and Mark McCloud, and attorneys Simon Frankel, Hendrik Pretorius, and Tony Serra.
This is an event accompanying SomArt’s ‘I Am Crime: Art on the Edge of Law’ exhibition that includes more than 30 artists and collectives that challenge, question or circumvent the law through their work. Curated by Justin Hoover, I Am Crime touches on issues of equity— who gets to break the law, when, and why.
