Joseph Lee Recreation Center | 1395 Mendell St, San Francisco, CA
First Exposures, an SF mentoring program providing free photography classes to underserved youth, hosts its annual Help Portrait Day when families can get their portrait taken for free at Joseph Lee Rec Center 3rd St & Oakdale Ave (enter on Oakdale) next door to the Bayview Opera House from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
The First Exposures site is unique as the program youth will be the main photographers. In 2013 they helped over 700 members of the community get their portrait taken.

They need your support from 8 am to 6 pm with set up, hair and makeup, registration, escorting guests through the process, assisting the youth photographers (and possibly stepping in to photograph), photo editing (Lightroom stations), framing, and break down. Photo skills are not necessary.
You can also donate to the event via their Network for Good page.
Please Note: The free portraits are meant for those who are truly in need, so that during the holidays, they can get a professional family portrait keepsake made. Consider donating your time or money to help out this great project.
