San Francisco Opera: Free Family Movie Screenings | SF

San Francisco Opera brings opera to the whole family with free family movie screenings in various locations throughout San Francisco.

Free, but an RSVP may be required. Please see individual shows for more info.

Each screening will feature a live introduction. Bring the children and grandchildren for a fun opera experience. The productions are typically in English, with English subtitles and is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Girl of the Golden West in San Rafael | San Francisco Opera: Free Family Movie Screenings | SF

Puccini’s The Girl of the Golden West is the opera version of a classic Western, complete with a crafty criminal, a suspicious sheriff and a frontier woman with an iron resolve and a heart of gold.

Sung in Italian with English subtitles, this free one-hour movie is recommended for ages 8 and up. It’s a heartwarming story and a terrific introduction to classic Italian opera.
