Movie Night at La Peña in collaboration with Camp Reel Stories!
Camp Reel Stories believes that when women and girls are better represented behind the scenes in the media, they will be better reflected on the screen. Camp Reel Stories is a non-profit organization that empowers 13-18 year old young women with the skills to create their own media, to view current media critically and thoughtfully, and to aspire to leadership in their field.
Join us for a film screening of 16 different shorts made by girls ages 13-18. 13 of the films were made by groups of 5-6 girls in 5 days. 3 of the films were made by girls in their advanced camp which is only 9 days long. A Q&A with the filmmakers will take place after the screenings.
The films will run approximately 90 minutes, with 20 minutes of discussion after.
