San Francisco Opera: Free Family Movie Screenings | SF

San Francisco Opera brings opera to the whole family with free family movie screenings in various locations throughout San Francisco.

Free, but an RSVP may be required. Please see individual shows for more info.

Each screening will feature a live introduction. Bring the children and grandchildren for a fun opera experience. The productions are typically in English, with English subtitles and is recommended for ages 10 and up.

Carmen at African American Art & Culture Complex | San Francisco Opera: Free Family Movie Screenings | SF

Created from San Francisco Opera’s performance of Carmen for Families, this one hour movie may be a great first opera experience for families and people of all ages.

Carmen is the story of an alluring Gypsy girl named Carmen, the Spanish soldier who loves her, and the brave bullfighter who wins her heart. The production is in English, with English subtitles and is recommended for ages 10 and up.

There are two screenings at the African American Art & Culture Complex on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from noon to 1:15 pm and from 2-3:15 pm.
