Free San Francisco Chamber Orchestra Family Concerts

With visual delights and audience participation, SF Chamber Orchestra’s Family Concert Series introduces Bay Area children to a wide range of classical music, setting the stage for a lifelong appreciation of this engaging art form.

The concerts feature guest performances from youth soloists, and musicians from the area’s best music schools and ensembles.

Admission is free to all, but donations are gladly accepted. Seating is first come, first served (no tickets). Concerts are generally 45 to 60 minutes in length. Doors open 30 minutes before concert time.

The oldest musical instrument is the rock; even Paleolithic Man couldn’t resist the urge to tap them together and start getting a groove on. Meet three of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra’s team of crack percussionists, those versatile musicians in the back of the orchestra handling everything from a bass drum and cymbals to a thundersheet and crotales. Guaranteed to astound you, and probably make things a bit noisier around the house for a while.
