Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.

On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Join Kevin Schuder for a cooking demo and tasting.

Kevin Schuder is the executive chef of Citizen Fox, the forthcoming plant-based restaurant, cocktail bar, and brewery slated to open in 2015 at 2205 Mission Street.

Kevin, who hails from the midwest, has been a Bay Area resident for eight years, and brings to Citizen Fox the experience and skills he gleaned working in high profile kitchens throughout the city, including Millennium, Izakaya Yuzuki, Boulettes Larder/Boulibar, and AQ.  His most recent endeavor was running his Oakland-based pop up restaurant Veg 388, where he served multi-course vegetarian and vegan dinners five nights a week. His exposure to different styles of cuisine, as well as his knowledge of modern and traditional techniques, gives him a broad range of tools to utilize in his role at Citizen Fox.  “We live in one of the most sophisticated agricultural areas in the world, and I’m excited to use our region’s incredible produce to cook delicious, thoughtful plant-based food. The Citizen Fox team is tremendous, and I’m honored to be part of it.”
