We start this tour in Levi Plaza, at the base of Telegraph Hill. We will mainly explore the East side of Telegraph Hill, which was extensively quarried in the late 1800’s and contributes to the unique character of the Hill. This walk features many of the stairways that connects the various parts of the neighborhood, including the famous Filbert and Greenwich Street steps. These stairways contain some of the most unique and lovely public gardens in San Francisco, and we will talk about the marvelous people that created them. We will visit Coit Tower, Julius’ Castle and view some of the earliest houses built in San Francisco that survived the 1906 earthquake and fires. These walks are intended to provide wonderful views of the city, some history and a good work out. They are not for the faint of heart. You should be reasonably fit to get the maximum enjoyment. Please note; maximum of 10 persons per tour. Register at my website to reserve a place.
