Every First Friday after Art Murmur in Oakland, The Uptown holds a free concert featuring local musicians and beyond covering indie rock, electronica, hip hop and everything in between.

There is no cover, doors open at 6 pm and the show starts at 9 pm.

Maus Haus | First Friday Concert Series | Oakland

San Francisco’s Maus Haus sounds like a confection of Kraftwerk, the Beach Boys, and Sonic Youth, ground up and re-formed into a filet of raw cool. Amid bursts of glitchy noise, dirty drums, and buzzy synthesizers, the band keeps the whole thing fun–with catchy vocals and hypnotic rhythms. The resulting sound is startlingly unique yet strangely familiar.

White Cloud, Lenz and Steel Cranes open the show.
