Friday Nights at the de Young is a free weekly after-hours art “happening” in the museum’s public spaces.

The event has a new theme every week, but typically includes an eclectic mix of live music, dance performances, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures, artist demos, hands-on art activities, and more. Plus, the observation tower is open until 8 pm.

There’s also Free Museum Admission during Friday Nights at the de Young which includes access to the permanent collection galleries (Please note that access to any special exhibitions require a separate paid ticket)

Kick-start your weekend with free general admission, live music, art-making, cocktails, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures and exhibition tours, all in the name of art.

Join in this Friday, August 18th, for the final Friday Night of the season, in an ongoing commemoration of our special exhibition, ‘The Summer of Love Experience: Art, Fashion, and Rock & Roll,’ which closes on August 20th.

We’re told that Friday Nights at the de Young WILL be back later in the year, but most likely as a monthly special event. Stay tuned….
