Enjoy topical discussions, live music, dance, and interactive family activities, all free to the public and sponsored by the Presidio Trust, in partnership with cultural institutions from across the Bay Area.

Legendary dancer, director, and choreographer Gene Kelly brought astonishing grace and athleticism to his movies. In this unique and very personal evening, Patricia Ward Kelly — his wife and biographer — brings you his story.

Taking you behind the scenes, she presents an intimate portrait of this innovative artist and his thoughts about some of his most iconic work, including Singin’ in the Rain. Combining film clips and the stories he shared with her over their decade together, Patricia Kelly guides us on an unforgettable journey into the life and heart of the man who changed the look of dance on film and became one of the world’s most beloved stars.

Biographer and film historian Patricia Ward Kelly is the sole trustee of the Gene Kelly Image Trust and creative director of Gene Kelly: The Legacy, a corporation established to commemorate Kelly’s artistry worldwide. She is completing a book about her late husband. Her one-woman show Gene Kelly: The Legacy is currently on tour in the United States and abroad.
