Ghost Town Jenny: Cinematic Electronic Soul | Berkeley Ghost Town Jenny, once the solo artistic moniker of 25 year old multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Kim Kylland, has since evolved into a magnetic five piece live band and they will perform a free live show at Rasputin Berkeley on July 1 at 2pm.

While the group’s sound is held together by Kylland’s haunting and powerful voice, Ghost Town Jenny’s songs encompass everything from huge sounding drums backed by shimmering harp and ghostly musical saw, to sonic landscapes laced with the ethereal sound of bells and mournful trumpets. Ghost Town Jenny have drawn many comparisons to Florence +The Machine, Bjork, and Patsy Cline.

“Cinematic electronic pop, woven together with the dark side of country and soul music…” – Chris Isaak on Ghost Town Jenny’s latest release, an EP entitled “The Swan”
