GIF the Halls: Send a 100-foot Tall Animated Xmas Card | SF

Blow away your loved ones by lighting up the walls of San Francisco with your Christmas wishes, rather than sending a boring and impersonal traditional greeting card.

GIF the Halls is a creative spin on the greeting cards of the future. WP Engine commissioned 7 digital artists from the Bay Area and beyond to put their own unique spin on the art of the holiday card.

Throughout the month December, visit the site, pick your favorite art, add a personal message, and then add their card to the queue. From December 20-24th, they’ll be projecting these cards along the walls of buildings in downtown San Francisco for everyone to see. And they’ll be capturing each projection as an animated GIF the moment it was projected with a video of your GIF as it is projected to share anywhere online.

Artists include Mitch Trale, Chromasy, Toyoya Li, Jono Brandel, Steve Teeple, Colin Sebestyen, and Doctor Popular.

The projections will go live at two of the most trafficked areas of San Francisco; 687 Market St. and 785 Market St. from 6 pm to 6 am from December 20-24th.
