Tree Tour with Friends of the Urban Forest | SF

Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF) invite you on a free two-hour walking tours of the trees of San Francisco, including rare trees and trees designated with Landmark status by the city.

Friends of the Urban Forest’s mission is to promote a larger, healthier urban forest, as part of San Francisco’s green infrastructure through community planting, tree care, education, and advocacy.

Friends of the Urban Forest and WalkSF have collaborated to present a tour discussing the intersection of pedestrian safety and green infrastructure in the Hayes Valley/Lower Haight neighborhoods. Inspired by the SF Planning Department’s proposed Green Connections, we will examine tree species, FUF Sidewalk Landscapes, living alleyways and artspace reclamation, stormwater retention swales, the Koshland Community Garden, and traffic calming strategies already implemented in the neighborhood. These current examples of safe and green infrastructure all lead to a vision for the future of the Page Street “Cedar Waxwing” Green Connection (route 4 on this map).

Free, but RSVP is required. There is a suggested donation of $10.
