Oakland Veg Week 2013: Vegan Cheesemaking Class | OaklandCelebrate the second annual Oakland Veg Week and pledge to be vegetarian for the week of April 22-28, 2013.

Oakland Veg Week’s mission is to introduce the Oakland community to the many benefits of a plant-based diet for health, animals, and the environment.

Oakland Veg Week takes place in the spring, and there are many local outreach events, food giveaways, cooking classes and more throughout the year.

Oakland Veg Week 2013: Vegan Cheesemaking Class | OaklandJoin Miyoko Schinner, author of Artisan Vegan Cheese and co-star of Vegan Mashup, in exploring the exciting new world of vegan cheesemaking at home.

You’ll learn to make several heart-healthy, plant-based cheeses, including a thick and delicious Cream Cheese, Buffalo Mozzarella, Ricotta, and a smokey chipotle Queso for nachos. All of the cheeses are oil-free to boot.
