New Dog Play Area Grand Opening | Oakland

District 1 City Council member Jane Brunner is pleased to announce the opening of North Oakland’s newest dog play area, located at Grove Shafter Park. The community and its dogs are cordially invited to attend a fun-filled dedication and grand opening celebration.

Leashed dogs and their families can join Ms. Brunner for the leash-cutting ceremony at 11:45 a.m. There will also be face painting and balloons for kids, plus a visit from an Oakland fire truck and the police canine unit.

This event is co-sponsored by the City of Oakland Office of Parks and Recreation, The Oakland Redevelopment Agency, Longfellow Community Association, and Oakland Dog Owner’s Group (ODOG).
