South Berkeley Farmers’ Market | 63rd and Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA
Enjoy a cross-cultural Halloween and Day of the Dead celebration featuring live Caribbean music, Aztec dance, free costumes, and a Day of the Dead Altar from 2 – 6:30 PM on October 30, 2012 at the South Berkeley Farmers’ Market.
Program Description:
3pm-4pm – live Caribbean music for children by Asheba
4pm-4:30pm – Aztec dance performance by Cuauhtli Mitotiani Mexica
4:30pm-5:30pm – live Caribbean music for children by Asheba
Ongoing:
Day of the Dead Altar – created by Bay Area Hispano Institute for Advancement (BAHIA). The public is invited to bring an offering of any kind to add to the altar and celebrate with us as our community honors life, farmers’ labor, and those that have sacrificed their health and lives for our well being and for food justice.
