Enjoy an evening of Indian Classical Dance and a Music Student Showcase for Harmony In Motion 2013 on Friday, May 31, 2013.
The classical and classical-fusion dance and music performances will be performed by members of the Stanford community. Performers have trained extensively in their respective styles.
This is a variety show, intended for a broad audience.
Stanford’s Indian Classical Dance group Noopur will perform their entire group repertoire, and the night will also feature other student-choreographed classical dance items and classical musical numbers by members of Spicmcacy, who perform diverse South Asian cultural forms.
At 9:30 pm, there will be a special presentation “Hungama”: The Fun Life by Nitya Rajeshuni.
Hungama is an Indian classical dance piece about children in India with special needs and their families, addressing the lack of awareness and information regarding their conditions in India. The piece was choreographed from scratch with original lyrics and music.
