Historic “Avenue Theater” Neon Sign Unveiling | SF

After years of community efforts to preserve the theater and renew its neon sign, the Avenue Theater in Portola is finally ready for its close up.

So join everyone on Wednesday, September 13th at 7pm as Mayor Ed Lee helps us flip the switch to reveal the Avenue’s beautiful new neon sign.

Enjoy a history exhibit in the old Johnson’s BBQ space, live organ music, tasty ice cream, commemorative posters, and of course, plenty of popcorn.
