History for Half Pints (the kid kind, not the drinking kind) is a monthly family day at the California Historical Society in San Francisco, featuring music, games and of course, history.

The family day takes place every second Saturday of the month and is free with an RSVP, or if you’re a CHS member.

This month they will explore building with the historic Sea Ranch as a model and celebrating Women’s History Month through art.

Build your own Sea Ranch
Use different types of materials to build an environmentally friendly community. Use blocks, driftwood, and more. How do different materials mold and change how you build?

Dance Workshop
From 12-12:30 pm, explore elements of creative movement through self-expression and play. Join Claudia Anata for a 30 minute class focused on developing self-awareness, problem solving skills and fun through movement exploration. The class will begin with a rigorous and engaging warm up and progress to group choreography centered on mindful performance practices. Ages 3-9 are welcome to participate. Parents are encouraged to attend with younger children.

Crafting Women’s History
Create a collage that highlights an important woman in your life. Could be a guardian, a historic figure, or someone you admire.
