Underground Film Night: Obscure Super 8 & 16mm Movies | Berkeley

The Berkeley Underground Film Society (BUFS) is an all ages club for collectors, researchers, and film enthusiasts in the East Bay and San Francisco area.

Their goal is to review and share a selective film history of movies on film.

Every Sunday, they screen buried, rarely projected, or otherwise obscure 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm prints from their collection.

Our Hospitality (1923) 8mm/Musical Accompaniment | Underground Film Night: Obscure Super 8 & 16mm Movies | Berkeley

A man returns to his Appalachian homestead. On the trip, he falls for a young woman. The only problem is her family has vowed to kill every member of his family.

This is the only film to feature three generations of Keatons. Buster’s father plays a train engineer while Buster’s infant son plays a baby version of Buster in the film’s prologue. Keaton’s wife Natalie was pregnant with their second child during filming, and late in the production she had to be filmed to hide her growing size.
