Hot Jazz & Dancing at a ’20s Art Deco Supper Club | Oakland
>> Want to see our Top Picks for this week instead?
Terrace Room | 1800 Madison Street, Oakland, CA
Come kick up your heels every 2nd Thursday with Hot Jazz and Hokum Stomp at the Terrace Room, Oakland’s lake front restaurant, set in a 1920s art deco supper club with panoramic view of Lake Merritt.
Live music with The Frisky Frolics trio and their brand of Hot Jazz & Hokum Stomp! specializes in long-forgotten musical gems of the 1920-30′s. Self-described Tin Pan Alley Troubadours, they have lovingly mined through their 78 rpm record collections and come up with a lively and varied set of songs, combining favorite familiar standards such as Louise and Paper Moon, with obscure and novelty numbers like, Cake Eatin’ Man and Nobody Knows What A Red-Head Mama Can Do.
DJ Tanoa Samoa Boy will be spinning a special 1920 thru 1941 pre-war swingin’ jazz set for your dancing, drinking and listening delight.
