IHOP will serve millions of free Original Buttermilk Pancakes during its National Pancake Day Celebration on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants across the country will invite guests to enjoy a complimentary short stack of IHOP’s signature delicious buttermilk pancakes from 7 am to 7 pm.

Tuesday, February 25, 2020 | 7 am to 7 pmFREE, but consider a donation: Guests can receive one free short stack of buttermilk pancakes at participating IHOP restaurants nationwide. Please check with your local IHOP for exact hours of participation. Limit one offer per guest. Dine-in only.

Why is today “National Pancake Day”? For centuries, the English have ‘flipped’ for pancakes in celebration of Shrove Tuesday, which heralds the beginning of fasting during Lent. Long ago, strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter, and other dairy products, hence the name Pancake Tuesday.
