JAZZ + At The de Young | SF

JAZZ + is a series of five free Sunday afternoon concerts presented by the de Young Museum in collaboration with the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music.

Exploring the tradition of Jazz in combination with other musical traditions, ranging from Latin to Caribbean to classical, this series celebrates the diversity of the Bay Area musical community in an intimate concert setting.

All performances are FREE and start at 2pm

Lisa Mezzacappa, acoustic bass – John Finkbeiner, guitar – Cory Wright, clarinet – Rob Ewing, trombone – John Hanes, percussion

Led by San Francisco-based bassist, composer, and musical instigator Lisa Mezzacappa, Les Gwan Jupons is a new ensemble that plays folk and dance music from the French, Spanish, and English-speaking Caribbean, biguine from Martinique, calypso from Trinidad, cumbia from Colombia, son and bolero from Cuba.
