Event Details

In Kerri’s Steinberg’s new book, Jewish Mad Men: Advertising and the Design of the American Jewish Experience, she considers the contributions of legendary Jewish figures in the field whose pioneering agencies created familiar products like Manischewitz wine and matzah and Hebrew National hotdogs. Finally, Levy’s Rye bread and JDate advertisements demonstrate how, since the 1960s American Jews have stepped outside the Jewish market and taken their proclamation of Jewish pride to the non-Jewish public.

Kerri Steinberg holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and is a professor at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
