Event Details

Imagine yourself as part of a post-apocalyptic battle team. The sun beating down on you, catching and glinting off your weapon. The ground soft beneath your feet. Your enemies across the field beginning to look worn down, their eyes betraying fear… Well, now you can.

There is a sport, popular in Germany, called “Jugger” based on a post-apocalyptic movie from Australia. It has evolved somewhat from its depiction in the movie, with foam-padded weaponry and t-shirts replacing steel and armor.

Come out and play this crazy game with a fun bunch of folks. As of now they are playing bi-weekly at Cordonices Park in Berkeley.

We aware that you might get bruises from playing, but also rest assured that they have made the weapons as safe as they can according to the game’s Berlin-style rules. Before you come you might want to watch a quick primer on how the game works. There are also many videos of real jugger games that aren’t stylized to show you what to expect.

Jugger California are hoping to start a jugger league right here in the Bay, as for some reason its only toeholds in the US are Ohio, Missouri, and North Carolina.
