Event Details

Come celebrate Oakland’s nature and learn about the Lake Merritt wildlife refuge and the many species that call it home.

Through quiet observation, mapping, and group discussions led by trained naturalists, you will learn to decipher the different calls of bird language and behavior. Once you begin to recognize territorial calls, alarm calls, and juvenile begging calls, the ecology of Lake Merritt and other Oakland open spaces will become new places of wonder.

Free but an RSVP is encouraged. They request you RSVP to oaklandnature@gmail.com so we know haw many to expect, but dropin attendance is welcome.
