Omnivore Books on Food is a teeny Noe Valley bookstore, their shelves packed floor to ceiling with hundreds of new, antiquarian, and collectible titles, on all manner of food and cooking.

The store hosts frequent events including book signings, chef talks, author readings, cooking contests, and food and drink tastings.

Lemon: A Global History tells the story of the remarkable adventure of the lemon, starting with its fragrant and mysterious ancestor, the citron, adored by the Greeks and Romans for its fine perfume and sacred to many of the world’s great religions. Nico Vera will be on hand to make us Pisco cocktails with lemons and a Peruvian dessert with lemon zest.

We can’t say 100% that the cocktail samples and dessert samples will be complimentary, but they usually are at these types of events.
