Event Details

Among those now able to enroll in the expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, members of the LGBT community, particularly those who are transgender, are sure to see a change in both coverage and care.

In addition to making it illegal for people to be denied insurance based on sexual orientation or gender identity, the Affordable Care Act also ensures that pre-existing health conditions such as HIV/AIDS can’t prevent people from getting covered.

What kinds of changes will the ACA bring to LGBT communities? How will that impact transgender patients? Join a discussion on health reform effects on the LGBT population – with a particular focus on the transgender community.
