Event Details

Robinson Jeffers, one of California’s most celebrated poets, met and married his wife Una amidst passion and scandal in the early 1900s. The Collected Letters of Robinson Jeffers, with Selected Letters of Una Jeffers, tells the story of their two remarkable creative lives. In this presentation, Jeffers scholar James Karman will provide an engaging overview of the 1,000 page edition, read excerpts from important letters, and discuss the significance of Jeffers’ Book Club of California publications, with books sales and signings to follow.

Come discover the the Book Club of California’s beautiful downtown library and clubroom–one of the historic treasures of Union Square. And while you’re there, be sure to check out the Club’s enchanting Alice in Bookland exhibit, commemorating Alice’s 150th anniversary.
