Light Up The Night 2013: Free Bike Light Campaign | SF
Now that the clocks have fallen back, it’s going to get darker waaaay earlier.
So the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC) are giving out thousands of free front and rear bicycle lights to bikers in need who don’t already have them.
It’s all part of their “Light up the Night” campaign on November 7 & 21, and December 3 & 17, 2013 from 5-7:30 pm.
Looking to volunteer? Sign up here. Volunteer roles include helping direct those riding by to their pop-up station, installing front and back lights, spreading important safety information and signing up new members.
While the exact locations have not been released, we’ve been told the bike light giveaway stations will be along normal commuting routes.
This campaign is to reach cyclists in need of a bike light. Please don’t abuse the program. If you already have a light, please don’t hide it just to get a new one. This is a targeted campaign to reach cyclists in need.
*Free bike saftey lights for those who do not already have them
