The 16th annual Litquake festival features hundreds of authors and journalists in a myriad of separate events throughout San Francisco from October 9-17, 2015.

Here’s your chance to win a pair of tickets to some of the festival’s best events.

Funcheap 2015 Litquake Contests:

Eat, Drink, and Be Literary – October 11th (11a to 5:30p) at Z Space ($40)
Litquake salutes the blending of books and food with this day-long celebration featuring nationally acclaimed chefs and authors. Ticket price includes events, food and drink samples.

Chris Abani – October 11th (7p) at Z Below ($10)
A discussion of humanitarianism, trans-national identity, and the role of race and culture in the creation of self in Chris Abani’s recent works—a detective novel set in Las Vegas with a global sweep featuring conjoined twins as the primary suspects, and a memoir that interrogates his “face” and the experiences that have shaped it.

From Hardback to Hollywood with Dennis Lehane – October 12 (7p) at JCCSF ($20)
From the multi-Oscar-winning Mystic River to Gone Baby Gone to writing gigs for acclaimed series such as The Wire and Boardwalk Empire… Dennis Lehane will discuss his book-to-film career, as well as his most recent novel, World Gone By, with film noir expert Eddie Muller.

Hawaiian Poet Laureate Kealoha – October 12 (7p) at Z Space ($20)
Kealoha is a nuclear physicist as well as poet laureate of Hawaii who will perform the debut of his epic poem of how it all began, Hawaii style.

Do Unto Animals – October 13 (7p) at Z Space ($25)
Join us for a good-humored evening with Longtime animal advocate Tracey Stewart (yes, who has a rather famous husband Jon), for a conversation about how animals live and how we can make their lives better.

Litquake’s “Barbary Coast Awards” – October 14 (8p) at Z Space ($15)
Litquake bestows their annual Barbary Coast Award the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley with tributes, poetry, songs, and stories told out of school, with an impromptu musical hoedown to follow. Tons of well-known writers scheduled to appear along with Amy Tan and  Robert Haas.

Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll – October 16 (8p) at Z Space ($25)
Join an all-star cast of San Francisco history as we celebrate Season of the Witch – Author David Talbot’s extraordinary telling of SF’s colorful and often dark history spans from the late ‘60s to the early ‘80s, when figures such as Harvey Milk, Janis Joplin, Jim Jones, and Bill Walsh helped usher the city to become thriving metropolis. With live music, tributes, remembrances, flashbacks, and many special guests.
