“National Night Out” 250+ Bay Area Block Parties (2021)
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood comradery with the goal of creating safer and stronger neighborhoods.
Every first Tuesday night in August we invite neighborhoods to host block parties that feature music, cookouts, contests, youth events, and visits from emergency personnel.
Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play, sing, or listen.
In their third collaboration with National Night Out, They’re excited to perform in the outdoor courtyard of the Oakland Public Library. They’re fighting crime and making some awesöme music while they’re at it.
Free for musicians and audiences.
