Lunar New Year Hand-on Cooking Class: Dumplings | Chinatown

Celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake by learning how to make traditional dumplings with Master Chef Bing Bing Xie for the 10th annual Chinese New Year’s Eve event at Grant Place Restaurant in Chinatown.

Learn a bit of cultural history while you learn to make Jiaozi and Tong Yuen in an informal hands-on cooking lesson.

Jiaozi-making is a family tradition on Chinese New Year’s Eve. The Cantonese have a different version called Tong Yuen—a small round sweet rice ball. Learn how to make both Jiaozi and Tong Yuen. Every one is welcome to join in and learn the versions.
